Summer sites...

Hi Friend!!
I just returned from NYC............. very exciting ....but sooooo crowded...
and then.... I traveled to Ocean City Md. with my family.....(don't ask) LOL

Hope everyone had a nice summer, filled with lots of good memories...
I miss my dollies so much.......:(

Happy Summer!!
I have been very busy this summer, just trying to help others,
and contributing where I can!
I will soon start selling dolls on Ebay again,and will "peek" them on my blog! :)
I have several dollies just staring at me...waiting to be completed!!
Poor dollies!!!
I am not "myself" without creating my little characters!!!

My little nephew spent the night and I helped Him make this hyena!!:)

My Little Niece...Lexi...newly diagnosed with Juvenille Diabetes ...
spent
the night on Friday....
and she did so GREAT!!!
She is testing and giving shots like a little nurse.....
SOOO PROUD OF HER!!!
Positive attitude means soooo much!! :)

I have been overwhelmed.....

This is my life right now......

Sometimes we ask "why?" and that is "ok."
My family has had a devastating week... with my favorite little niece going into Diabetic ketoacidosis on Thursday evening,
and being diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes Type I...

This little girl must test her blood, with finger pricks 5 times daily and also, take seven insulin shots daily.....for the rest of her life...she is only 9 years old....Her diet will be completely different...No Twix bars or candy.....No birthday cake and ice cream :( Sleepovers will be difficult, and so will every aspect of her and her family's life.....

Juvenile Diabetes I is the worst possible type, where the pancreas completely shuts down, and does not make insulin.

"Lexi".....
Alexis Olivia's, entire life has changed, and we are trying to push past the sadness...She is very depressed ... quiet & sad.....:(

Lexi is in Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh Pa...
any prayers , advice or guidance...would truly be appreciated....

The beginnings of "BARBIE!"

In the beginning Lilli was a German cartoon character, created by Reinhard Beuthien for the tabloid Bild-Zeitung in Hamburg, Germany. In 1953 the Bild-Zeitung decided to market a Lilli doll and contacted Max Weissbrodt from the toy company O&M Hausser in Neustadt/Coburg, Germany.
Following Beuthien's drawings Weissbrodt designed the prototype of the doll which was on sale from 1955 to 1964 when Mattel acquired the rights of the doll so the German production had to stop.

Until then production numbers reached 130000.

Lilli came as a dressed doll, with additional fashions sold separately. Her fashions mirror the lifestyle of the Fifties: she had outfits for parties, the beach and tennis as well as cotton dresses, pajamas and poplin suits. In her last years, her wardrobe consisted mainly of "Dirndl" dresses. Lilli´s dresses always have very special patent fasteners(forgery proof) marked "PRYM".

Today Lilli is a collector's piece as Barbie is, and commands prices of several thousand Euros.

Isn't this tree cool?

It is one of the trees auctioned....at the "Festival Of Trees" an annual event in my hometown.
The trees are dontated and all of the money goes to help buy warm winter coats for children.
It is a very fun and worthwhile event.....This tree ended up selling for 325 dollars :)
